[Oregon Twilight results] [Mt. Hood results] [GNAC multis results]
The Western Oregon track & field team was scattered throughout the Northwest last week as members of the squad competed at the Oregon Twilight, the Mt. Hood Track Festival and the GNAC Multis.
Oregon Twilight
Madison McClung continues to establish herself as one of the most decorated sprinters in Western Oregon history. She registered a time of 25.02 in the 200m dash to move into second in school history. McClung backed that up with a time of 12.16 in the 100m dash to move into fifth on the Wolves' all-time top 10 list and to first on the 2012 GNAC performance list. McClung's 100m time moved her to fifth in GNAC history and her time in the 200m shot her into sixth place.
Janelle Everetts also recorded a season-best time at the Oregon Twilight. She posted a time of 2:12.63 in the 800m to improve upon her provisional qualifying standard that she earned earlier in the year.
Kody Rhodes also had a season-best performance on Saturday with a time of 15.08 in the men's 110m hurdles to place third at the meet.
Mt. Hood Track Festival
Tim Lundy moved into second place on the 2012 GNAC performance list by clearing 15-1 (4.60m) in the men's pole vault. Lundy went on to take second place at the meet.
Michael Glover was the lone Wolf to win an event on Friday. He leaped 21-11 (6.68m) in the long jump for the victory.
The Wolves also received top three finishes on the men's side from
Brett Campbell in the 400m hurdles (57.35),
Ryan Chapman in the 1500m (3.58.8) and
Will Crook in the javelin (183-1/55.80m).
On the women's side,
Janna Vander Meulen took second in the hurdles (1:05.58),
Nicole Anderson finished second in the steeplechase (12:22.76) and
Megan Everetts placed second in the 800m (2:17.44).
Laura Copenhagen (800m),
Kayla Dolby (HJ) and
Maylea Tooze (LJ) all placed third in their respective events.
GNAC Multis
Charlene Harber earned the women's team four points by placing fifth in the women's heptathlon at the GNAC Multi Events. Harber had the top mark in the shot put and was third in the 200m to collect 4,172.
Jake Hyde earned half a point for the men's squad with 5,679 total points.
Next meet
The Western Oregon track & field team is preparing to host the 2012 GNAC Track & Field Championships May 11-12.
