PUEBLO, Colo. –
Western Oregon javelin thrower Amanda Schumaker earned her fourth consecutive All-American honor as the senior finished in sixth-place at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

With the honor, Schumaker becomes the first WOU student-athlete to earn four consecutive All-American honors in the same event or sport since the move to the NCAA Division II level.

Schumaker is also the first athlete in GNAC history to earn All-American honors four years in a row in the outdoor meet in the same event.

"What a great way for Amanda to end a tremendous career," head coach Mike Johnson said. "She has been a tireless worker throughout her career and I am thrilled she earned All-American honors once again."

Schumaker's toss of 152-00 in the preliminary round was strong enough to finish in the top eight as the senior earned three team points for the Wolves while picking up her fourth-straight All-American honor. She finished sixth in 2010 (144-5), eighth in 2011 (137-10) and third in 2012 (158-5).

The senior was one of four WOU student-athletes to compete in the javelin throw on Saturday as Seabre Church was unable to advance to the finals following her toss of 138-01.

On the men's side, Shane Brooks finished in 11th-place with a toss of 198-11 while Justin Larson did not finish in the event as he faulted on all three attempts.
