FINAL RESULTSBELLINGHAM, Wash. – Ten members of Western Oregon University's track and field team competed at the 34th annual WWU/Ralph Vernacchia Invitational Saturday at Civic Stadium, as all ten placed in the Top 10 in their respective events to go along with four lifetime personal records and a victory in the women's shot put.
Junior
Emmi Collier led the Wolves' competitors with a victory in the shot put with a winning distance of 13.35 meters (43-9.75) to capture the individual title by more than two feet. Collier also competed in the hammer and discus finishing sixth and ninth, respectively, with marks of 44.75 (146-10) and 35.10 (115-02) meters, respectively.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, senior
Nicole Anderson set a lifetime personal record with a time of 12:11.69 en route to finishing 10th overall.
Other highlights for the Wolves came from senior
Rebecca Laible, who finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.50 meters (37-8.75) with seniors
Audrey Hellesto and
Laura Knudson placing fourth and eighth, respectively, in the 400 meter run with times of 1:06.33 and 1:08.56, respectively.
On the men's side, freshman
Kenny Klippel set a pair of lifetime personal records in the shot put and discus with Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) provisional marks of 14.32 (46-11.75) and 43.25 (141-11) meters, respectively, en route to placing seventh and ninth, respectively.
Junior
Zach Holloway would also set a lifetime personal record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:16.39 en route to finishing second overall, while also lowering his provisional time for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in May.

Justin Larson and freshman
Kaleb Dobson would post a pair of third place finishes in the javelin and 110 meter hurdles, respectively, while sophomore
Jeremy Moore registered a pair of GNAC provisional marks in the discus and shot put with distances of 43.99 (144-04) and 14.44 (47-4.50) meters, respectively, to finish fourth and fifth, respectively, in the events.
Western Oregon will return to action on Monday and Tuesday, April 27 & 28, when freshman
Peter Zalk competes in the decathlon and junior
Sam Moore competes in the heptathlon as part of the GNAC Multi-Event Championships starting at 10 and 10:30 AM, respectively, in Lacey, Washington.
The rest of the Wolves will compete next at the two-day OSU High Performance Meet on Thursday and Friday, April 30 & May 1, with field events starting at noon and track events beginning at 4 PM at the Whyte Track & Field Center in Corvallis.
