CORVALLIS, Ore. – Western Oregon was back in action at the OSU High Performance Meet as the track & field team picked up a number of NCAA qualifying standards and one new school record against a field of Division I competition.

The Wolves scored a combined five provisional qualifying standards, with three from the WOU women and two from the men.

On the women's side,
Nicole Maurmann earned a provisional mark in the 5,000-meter with a WOU school record time of 17:17.01. Her effort bested a 27-year old record from Randi Taruscio (Lydum) by 10 seconds in her first race in that distance this year.
Kennedy Rufener also ran a personal best in the same race and ran the fourth fastest time at WOU at 17:39.07.

In the sprints,
Laura Patrick was the top Division II finisher in the 100 meters. In the 200,
Olivia Woods placed third and
Megan Rose came in fourth separated by .22 seconds with the top D2 times.

For the field events,
Emmi Collier scored a fourth place finish in the shot put with a provisional mark of 13.99m (46-10 ¾), while
Rachael Huffman took sixth in the javelin at 41.77m (137-0) in another provisional qualifier.

On the men's side, the two provisional marks were split between one track and one field event.
David Ribich had the top Division II finish in the 1,500 meters, grabbing another provisional time of 3:49.15.
Justin Larson got to the 200-foot mark in javelin, placing fourth among a Division I field.
Kaleb Dobson (110m hurdles) and
Joe Soik (800 meters) had personal best on the track.
