PORTLAND, Ore. – Sophomore
Olivia Woods earned her second Great Northwest Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the year on Monday after leading Western Oregon in the 400-meter race at the 2017 John Knight Twilight.
Â
Woods led a top-three sweep for the Wolves in the 400 meters at their own John Knight Twilight, winning with a time of 57.06, her season best, in less than optimal weather conditions.
Â
Woods currently holds Western Oregon's best times in the 400m, 800m (school record 2:08.46) and as part of the 4x400m relay team.
Â
This is her second GNAC weekly honor after earning the honor in late February after taking the indoor 800m school record at the SPU Final Qualifier.
Â
Woods will run in the 400 and 800 races at the Bryan Clay Invitational and in the 800m at the Long Beach State Invitational this week as the Wolves head to Southern California.
