BRADENTON, Fla. – Junior runner David Ribich became a two-time National Champion on Saturday winning Western Oregon's first-ever outdoor title in the men's 1500m while sophomores Dustin Nading and Olivia Woods came to be All-American on the final day of the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at the IMG Academy.

The Wolves' men scored all 13 of their team points in the meet during the 1500m finals. Ribich took the lead at the 700m-mark and ran the final 400 meters in 55.08 seconds to hold off Kyle Medina of Chico State to win his first individual National Championship with a final time of 3:49.64. Nading earned the other three points with his sixth place time of 3:51.50. Ribich repeated as All-American after taking fifth place in the same event last year. For Ribich, it is his sixth All-American finish while Nading earned his third of the year.

"I was composed for 1480 meters of the race and couldn't help but smile the last 20 meters bringing home another national title to Western Oregon Univeristy," Ribich said.

Western Oregon also scored on the women's side with Woods in the 800m. Woods ran the fastest second lap in the race to rally from seventh place at the 400m-mark to finish third with a time of 2:07.38. She broke her own school record for the second consecutive day after lowering it in the third heat of the preliminary rounds on Friday. Woods became a two-time All-American this year after taking sixth at 800m indoors.

Woods said, "The finish was a surprise, but it overall has been something that I have been working for since August."

In the women's javelin final in the morning, sophomore Sheila Limas De La Cruz finished 21st with an effort in the first round of 38.40m (126').

St. Augustine won its fifth consecutive men's outdoor championship with 58 points while West Texas A&M took the women's championship with 64 points.
