NEW ORLEANS—Following strong performances at the Stanford Invitational last weekend, the Western Oregon men's track & field team jumped to the No. 19 position in the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II National Team Men's Rankings this week.
A total of seven Wolves were calculated in the team's 55.25 points, including four alone in the 800-meter run.
David Ribich scored the highest tally with 20.34 points coming in the 800 with the NCAA DII's second fastest time so far this season at 1:48.09.
AJ Holmberg,
Thomas Normandeau and
Curt Knott added to the score with top-40 marks in the 800.
Dustin Nading and
Josh Dempsey combined to score 23.88 in the 1,500 with Nading ranked No. 4 in the country and Dempsey No. 9.
Alani Troutman provided the final points for the team with the No. 7 mark in the long jump after soaring a GNAC-leading 24-3 1/2 (7.40m) last weekend.
Western Oregon is the lone team ranked in the top 25 his week. Pittsburg State (Kan.) and Texas A&M Kingsville hold the top two scored with 193.62 and 155.89 points, respectively.
