Track and Field Set For Busy Weekend Entering in Three Different Meets

 

MONMOUTH, Ore./EUGENE, Ore./MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams will not only be hosting a meet this Friday, but will also have several student-athletes competing in the Oregon Relays and the Linfield Invitational this weekend. WOU will host the Pop Up Meet this Friday, while the Oregon Relays will take place both Friday and Saturday and then the Linfield Invitational will be on Saturday.

On Friday, the WOU Pop UP Meet will begin around 8:30 a.m. with running events. Entries for the Wolves in the Pop Up Meet are as follows.

On the women's side, Krystal Andres will compete in the discus having thrown in the event three times already this outdoor season. Her top throw of 115-5 came at the WOU Tri Meet #2 when she placed second.

Kaylin Cantu is set to open her outdoor season in the 1,500-meter. Her top time in the event came during the 2019 outdoor season coming in at 4:51.28.

Rilee Carstensen will enter in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. Carstensen has run in the 100-meter hurdles four times this outdoor season with a top time of 16.68 at the WOU Tri Meet #1. She has competed in the 400-meter hurdles once so far this season which was at the most recent Titan Invitational posting a time of 1:12.15.

Moana Gianotti has continued to improve on her season-best marks in all three throwing events and will enter in the shot put, discus and hammer. She has thrown all three in four meets this year and has competed in the discus and hammer throw in five total meets. Gianotti set a new personal-best in the hammer this past week at the Titan Invitational hitting a mark of 153-3. She added new season-best marks in the shot put (41-1.75) and in the discus (135-2).

Ashley Hauger will compete in the 800-meter. It will be the third time she has entered in the 800 this season, coming off of a new season-best time this past week at the Titan Invitational when she crossed at 2:23.94.

Caitlin Heldt will enter in the 1,500-meter. This will be the fifth time she has entered in the 1,500 this season, posting a season-best time of 4:49.99 at the first WOU Tri Meet.

Jenelle Hurley will enter in the 100-meter hurdles. She recently posted a new best time in the event this past week at the CWU Multi when she crossed at 15.39. That was part of a new season-best point total in the heptathlon when Hurley collected 4,596 points.

Madeline Lambing will enter in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. Lambing has run in the 100-meter hurdles twice already this outdoor season, with a season-best time of 19.10 at the first WOU Tri Meet.

Lindie Larson will enter in the 1,500-meter. She has competed in the event four times this outdoor season, coming away with her top time at the second WOU Tri Meet.

Kaiya Leamy will also compete in the 1,500-meter. She has run in the 1,500 twice so far this outdoor season with her top time coming at the second WOU Tri Meet.

Liliana Lyness-Morales will compete in the shot put and hammer throw. She recently posted season-best marks in both events hitting a distance of 136-7 in the hammer at the Titan Invitational and a distance of 34-8.25 in the shot put during the John Knight Twilight.

Tresai McCarver will run in the 1,500-meter. She has run in the event three times already this outdoor season with a top time coming at the first WOU Tri Meet.

Shayla Solomon will run in the 800-meter. This will be the fourth time this outdoor season she has competed in the event, coming away with a season-best time of 2:20.32 at the PNW Team Clash.

Maliyah Thompson will enter in the 100-meter and the 100-meter hurdles. This will be the second time she has entered in the event after posting a time of 15.66 to win the 100-meter hurdles during the second WOU Tri Meet.

Michaela Yonkman will compete in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. She has competed in both in each of the past two meets. Yonkman collected her top season time in the 100-meter hurdles this last time out at the Titan Invitational coming in at 15.93. Her top time in the 400-meter hurdles came during the PNW Team Clash when she crossed at 1:05.70.

On the men's side, Talon Aguilar will enter in the 1,500-meter. He has run in the event three times already this season with his top time coming last time out in the Titan Invitational.

Adam Alnazer will enter in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter. He set a season-best in the 1,500 at the PNW Team Clash when he crossed at 4:02.74. He has only run the 800 once this outdoor season coming in with a time of 2:01.72 at the first WOU Tri Meet.

Carson Austin will compete in the 800-meter. This will be the third time this season he has entered in the 800, collecting a top time this season last time out in the Titan Invitational crossing at 2:00.68.

Sam Cole will compete in the shot put and hammer throw. His top throw in the shot put this season of 45-0.25 came during the PNW Team Clash and his top mark in the hammer this season occurred during the John Knight Twilight with a distance of 163-0.

 Karsten Collins will throw the shot put, discus and hammer. He has thrown all three in two other meets this season and has top marks this outdoor year of 44-4.25 in the shot put at the second WOU Tri Meet, a personal-best distance of 153-2 in the hammer from the first WOU Tri Meet and a mark of 141-2 in the discus from the second WOU Tri Meet.

Owen Collins will also throw in the shot put, discus and hammer. He has thrown all three in the previous three meets coming away with a personal-best mark in the hammer of 152-9 at the second WOU Tri Meet. His season-best in the shot put came at the John Knight Twilight of 48-4.75 and in the discus of 136-2 also during the John Knight Twilight.

Cedar Davis-Frankfort will enter in the 10,000-meter. This will be his first 10,000 of the season having run the 5,000 and 1,500 each twice in the meets this outdoor season.

Chase Eckenfels will compete in the 800-meter. This will be his second time running in the 800 this year, having entered in the event for the first time this past week at the Titan Invitational.

Jarren Ford will run in the 100-meter. He has competed in the 100 twice this season with a season-best time of 11.21 at the PNW Team Clash.

Dominic Giordano will compete in the 1,500-meter. He has run in the event twice this outdoor season with his best time of 4:04.68 coming at the second WOU Tri Meet.

Aaron Hanible will compete in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. This will be the fifth time this outdoor season that he has run both events at a meet. He posted a season-best time of 15.87 in the 110-meter hurdles at the PNW Team Clash and in the 400-meter hurdles this past week at the Titan Invitational with a time of 55.88.

Dominique Loggins will enter in the 100-meter. This will be the third time this outdoor season running in the event coming away with a top time of 10.88 this past week at the Titan Invitational.

Dustyn McKenney will run in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter. This will be the third time he has run the 800 with a top season time of 1:59.84 at the John Knight Twilight. He recently ran to his top season time in the 1,500 this past week at the Titan Invitational.

Bryce Mefford will enter in the 800-meter. He has competed in the event twice this outdoor season with a top season time of 2:02.95 this past week at the Titan Invitational.

Eli Nafziger will enter in the 100-meter. He ran in the 100 for the first time this outdoor season during this past Titan Invitational.

Timothy Rambo will compete in the 800-meter. He has run in the event three times already this outdoor season with a season-best time of 1:57.76 at the PNW Team Clash.

Trey Reed will enter in the 800-meter. This will be the sixth time this season running in the event with his top season time of 1:57.42 occurring at the second WOU Tri Meet.

Matthew Schenk will enter in the 800-meter. He has run in the event twice so far this outdoor season posting his best time in the event this past week at the Titan Invitational of 2:03.88.

Bailey Smith will enter in the 1,500-meter. Smith has competed in the event twice so far this season with a season-best time of 4:02.93 during the second WOU Tri Meet.

Wyatt Smith will enter in the 800-meter. This will be the third time this outdoor season entering in the event with a top time of 1:58.51 at the John Knight Twilight.

Deshaun Stevens will run in the 400-meter hurdles. This will be the first time he has entered the event this season having run the 110-meter hurdles during both decathlons and at the first WOU Tri Meet this season.

Miguel Villar will enter in the 1,500-meter. This will be the first time and first event Villar has entered for the Wolves after arriving from Adams State. In addition to running in cross country, Villar competed in the 3,000-meter throughout his time at Adams State.

WOU will also have several student-athletes competing in the Oregon Relays that begin on Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. and then resume on Saturday at 10:45 a.m., and the Linfield Invitational that will start on Saturday morning around 10 a.m.

At the Oregon Relays, Maya Hopwood will enter in the women's 100-meter. She has run the 100 three times so far this outdoor season, with her top time of 12.25 coming at the John Knight Twilight and ranks in a tie for ninth in WOU program history in the event.

Hurley will compete in the women's high jump. Four times this outdoor season she has entered in the high jump reaching a top height of 5-4.5 during the John Knight Twilight.

Kaylee Wright will throw in the women's javelin. Having already set an NCAA provisional mark in the event earlier this year, her top mark currently stands at 144-2 in which she set during the second WOU Tri Meet. Wright's mark ranks 21st nationally in NCAA Division II.

Loggins will also run in the men's 100-meter dash in Eugene. He will run in the event for the third time this outdoor season earlier in the day and has a top time of 10.88 this past week at the Titan Invitational.

Keola Yadao will also run in the men's 100-meter dash. He certainly made a splash running the event for the first time at WOU this past week coming in with a time of 10.62 which ranks fifth in WOU program history, is tied for 34th nationally in NCAA Division II and helped him win GNAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolades.

Justin Crosswhite will enter in both the men's 800-meter and the 1,500-meter. He has run the 800 twice this outdoor season with a new personal-best time of 1:53.38 during the first WOU Tri Meet. Crosswhite has run the 1,500 four times this season with a season-best time of 3:52.01 set during the John Knight Twilight.

Hunter Hutton will also enter both the men's 800-meter and the 1,500-meter. Hutton is off to a strong start this outdoor season setting new personal-best times in both events coming in at 1:54.62 in the 800 and 3:49.24 in the 1,500 during the John Knight Twilight. Hutton's time in the 1,500 ranks 29th nationally in NCAA Division II and is a provisional mark.

JJ Walker will enter in the men's pole vault. He reached a new season-best height in the pole vault of 15-3 during the second WOU Tri Meet. Walker has also competed in a pair of decathlons this year with his point total of 6,432 during the WOU Opener Multi which ranks 27th nationally in NCAA Division II and is a provisional mark.

WOU will also send a handful of student-athletes to the Linfield Invitational on Saturday.

Lauren Berry will enter in the women's long jump and triple jump. It's been an outdoor season of new personal-best marks for Berry as she hit a new distance in the long jump of 17-5.25 during the first WOU Tri Meet. She added a new distance in the triple jump during the Titan Invitational hitting 31-7.25 and also on the track in the 100 during John Knight Twilight crossing at 13.13.

Lyndee McLauchlin will enter in the women's javelin. She set a new season-best distance in the event during the PNW Team Clash with a throw of 124-7. This will be the sixth time this outdoor season that McLauchlin had thrown the javelin.

Jalon Fields will compete in the men's long jump and triple jump. He set a new personal-best in the triple jump during the PNW Team Clash hitting a distance of 47-3. Then recently at the Titan Invitational, Fields hit a new distance of 23-2.5 in the long jump. His mark in the triple jump ranks 38

Jacob Flury will enter in the men's long jump and triple jump. He set a new season-best in the long jump of 19-9.5 during the first WOU Tri Meet. His best mark so far this outdoor season in the triple jump came during the second WOU Tri Meet.

Austin Goldstein will compete in the men's javelin. He has been getting close to reaching a provisional mark in the event throughout the outdoor season, with his most recent attempt hitting 188-1 during John Knight Twilight. That throw ranks 29th nationally in NCAA Division II.

Marlon Harrison will enter in the men's long jump and triple jump. He set season-best mark in the long jump during the PNW Team Clash hitting a distance of 20-7. Then during the Titan Invitational, Harrison hit a distance of 45-1.5 in the triple jump for a new season-best.

Devin Hasher will enter in the men's high jump. So far this outdoor season Hasher has entered in the high jump twice and posted the same distance of 6-4.75 at the Titan Invitational and the John Knight Twilight.

Eli Nafziger will enter in the men's high jump, long jump and javelin. During John Knight Twilight, he set season-best marks in the high jump (5-10.75) and in the javelin (162-9). His best long jump this outdoor season came this past week at the Titan Invitational hitting a distance of 20-1.

Jake Thompson will enter in the men's long jump and triple jump. Thompson hit a season-best distance in the long jump of 19-6 at the PNW Team Clash and has yet to enter in the triple jump this outdoor season. Earlier this season he opened the outdoor year competing in the decathlon.

There will be multiple ways to follow all three meets this week.
