With 2022 here, we caught up with a few of our student-athletes to find out their New Year's Resolutions and some of their favorite memories of being at WOU!
Omari Land, Football, RB, Oakland, CA/San Leandro
"My favorite memories of WOU from this year had to be getting back to campus and to be able to play football with my guys again. Traveling was for sure a highlight and the bond you form with your teammates on those trips are one of a kind. From the trips to Golden Corral to the aching bus rides home every second was memorable. I'm excited to head into the New Year and get back to work and do it all one more time. With that being said, my New Year's resolution is to save my money a little better and be less spendy, haha."
Hannah Cabral, Women's Soccer, F, Kailua, HI/Kalaheo
"My New Year's resolution is to finish my schoolwork here at WOU and pass my real estate exam in Las Vegas. WOU athletics is such a great program and I have so many good memories from the past four years of being a part of it. My favorite memory is from my freshman year at Wolfies. It was such a fun get together and it was so nice to see everyone dressed all fancy. It was the last year we had it in the gym which made it even more special."
Emmett Klus, Cross Country/Track and Field, Burns, OR/Burns
"My New Year's resolution is to read more books. My favorite memories of WOU are mostly related to practice and meets. I love going to practice every day and being around my teammates. Outside of sports, I have always enjoyed the tree lighting on campus!"
Aubrey Stanton, Volleyball, S, Camas, WA/Camas
"My favorite memories at WOU have been all of the lifelong friends I've made with not only the volleyball team, but other teams as well. WOU's close community of athletes is very welcoming and I'm glad to be a part of it. The volleyball games are definitely some of my favorite memories, but being able to support my friends on other teams during their games is another one of my favorite memories. My New Year's resolution is to finish my undergrad degree with strong grades by staying organized and managing my time well. In addition, I want to spend even more time in the weight room in 2022 than I did in 2021 to continue getting stronger."
