Track And Field Returns To Seattle This Weekend For UW Invite

SEATTLE, Wash. – This will be the second trip to Seattle this month for the Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams when they will compete in the UW Invite this Friday and Saturday.

The Wolves will send 25 student-athletes to Seattle with Emillia Carpenter, Macy Clemens, Amity Deters, Moana Gianotti, Jessy Hart, Caitlin Heldt, Maya Hopwood, Jenelle Hurley, Liliana Lyness-Morales, Kalulusno Ngaida, Ana Popchock, Maliyah Thompson, Gabe Arce-Torres, Sam Cole, Owen Collins, Justin Conklin, Keanu Daos, Marlon Harrison, Hunter Hutton, Timothy Rambo, Keeton Sanchez, Bailey Smith, Brennen Sorah, Deshaun Stevens and JJ Walker will all be making the trip.

Carpenter will enter in the weight throw. She has competed in the event three times this indoor season with a season-best 45-2.5 at the Spokane Invitational.

Clemens will enter in the long jump. She has competed in the event twice this indoor season with a top season mark of 16-4.25 the last time the Wolves were in Seattle at the UW Preview.

Deters will enter in the high jump. She has competed in the event twice this indoor season with a top season mark of 5-3 at the Spokane Invitational.

Gianotti will enter in the shot put and weight throw. She has competed in both events in all three indoor meets this season posting season-high marks of 42-10.25 in the shot put and 49-4.25 in the weight throw, both at the Spokane Invitational.

Hart will enter in the 200-meter. She competed in the event twice this indoor season with a season-best time of 26.59 at the Spokane Invitational.

Heldt will enter in the 5,000. This will be the first time this indoor season competing in the event. Heldt ran in the 3,000 twice so far this indoor season.

Hopwood will enter in the 60-meter. She has competed in the event three times this indoor season with a season-best time of 7.82 at the Spokane Invitational.

Hurley will enter in the 60 hurdles, high jump and long jump. She has competed in the 60 hurdles twice this indoor season with a season-best time of 9.36 at the UW Preview. Hurley has entered in the high jump in three indoor meets this year with a season-best mark of 5-1 at the Spokane Invitational. She entered in the long jump once this indoor season at the UW Preview hitting a mark of 17-9.75.

Lyness-Morales will enter in the shot put and weight throw. She competed in the weight throw in three indoor meets this season posting a season-best 47-4.5 at the Spokane Invitational. Lyness-Morales has competed in the shot put twice this indoor season with the top-mark coming at the Spokane Invitational of 35-10.

Ngaida will enter in the high jump and the triple jump. She has competed in both events twice this indoor season posting top marks at the George Fox/Portland Indoor in both events hitting a distance of 5-2.25 in the high jump and 35-6.75 in the triple jump.

Popchock will enter in the 60 hurdles and the triple jump. She has competed in both events in three indoor meets this season. Popchock collected a season-best time of 9.04 in the 60 hurdles at the UW Preview. Her top mark in the triple jump came in Spokane with a distance of 36-8.25.

Thompson will enter in the 60 hurdles and the 60-meter. She has competed in both events in two indoor meets this season setting the top season-best times at the George Fox/Portland Indoor. Thompson crossed at 8.06 in the 60-meter and 9.17 in the 60 hurdles.

Arce-Torres will enter in the 200-meter. He competed in the event once so far this indoor season at the Spokane Invitational posting a time of 22.89.

Cole will enter in the shot put and weight throw. This will be his first indoor meet so far this season.

Collins will enter in the shot put and weight throw. Coming off of being named the GNAC Field Athlete of the Week, he competed in both events twice this indoor season. His top marks this indoor season both came at the George Fox/Portland Indoor hitting a distance of 45-3 in the shot put and 51-3 in the weight throw.

Conklin will enter in the 60 hurdles and the high jump. He competed in both events at the Spokane Invitational posting marks of 6-4.75 in the high jump and 8.75 in the 60 hurdles.

Daos will enter in the 5,000. He competed in the event earlier this indoor season a the UW Preview posting a time of 8:36.69.

Harrison will enter in the long jump and triple jump. He competed in both events twice so far this indoor season posting his top marks this season a t the George Fox/Portland Indoor. Harrison hit a distance of 20-8 in the long jump and 44-3.5 in the triple jump.

Hutton will enter in the mile. He competed in the event once this indoor season at the UW Preview collecting a time of 4:07.78.

Rambo will enter in the 800-meter. He competed in the event once this indoor season at the UW Preview posting a time of 1:57.19.

Sanchez will enter in the 800-meter. He competed in the event twice this indoor season with his top time coming at the UW Preview crossing at 1:55.49.

Smith will enter in the 5,000. He hasn't competed in the 5,000 yet this indoor season, but has entered in the 3,000 twice so far this year.

Sorah will enter in the 60 hurdles. He has competed in the event twice this indoor season with a top time of 8.74 at the George Fox/Portland Indoor.

Stevens will enter in the long jump. He has competed in the event twice this indoor season with a top mark of 21-10 at the UW Preview.

Walker will enter in the high jump and pole vault. This will be the first time this season he has competed in both events. Earlier this indoor season, Walker has competed in the 60 hurdles, long jump, and shot put.

Events start at 3 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Live video and results will be available throughout the meet.
