NOTES FOR THIS WEEK...

MEN'S BASKETBALL
  • The Wolves went 2-1 last week, beating Multnomah at home Tuesday 79-66 behind a triple-double from Qiant Myers (first by WOU player since 2017, first in GNAC since 2019) then went to the Ron Logsdon Basketball Challenge in Rohnert Park where it lost to Stanislaus State 82-77 on Friday and beat host Sonoma State on Saturday 75-69 (behind a career-high 30 points from Myers).
  • Qiant Myers was named the GNAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday after averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 52.4 percent from the field (including 6-for-13 from 3-point range). He's currently second in the nation in assists per game (8.4).
  • This will be the first time since 2008 the Wolves have taken on Linfield in a regular-season contest (the Wolves lost at home 89-74).
  • The Wildcats enter the contest 1-2 on the season with losses at Bushnell (105-54) and Portland State (70-53) while winning its last game at Evergreen State on Saturday (95-84). 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
  • The Wolves played in the SMU Tournament last week in Lacey, Washington. WOU fell to Chico State 61-56 before losing to Somona State 79-57.
  • While the sample size is small, the Wolves have shown improvements compared to the 2022-23 season - WOU is averaging 3.2 more rebounds per game while holding their opponents to 4.1 fewer points each game.
  • Cali McClave is showcasing why she was selected for the GNAC Preseason All-Conference Team, averaging 15.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals. 
  • Ana McClave leads the team with an average of 8.8 rebounds per game, while also contributing 7.8 points per game (50 percent shooting). McClave had 13 rebounds against Chico State in the SMU tournament.
  • Bella Pedrojetti is averaging 10.8 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. Triniti Youngblood leads the team in assists - totaling 20 this season, averaging 4.0 per game, while also adding 9.0 points per game.
  • The Azusa Pacific Thanksgiving Classic will serve as the final games before the start of the GNAC regular season.
  • This will be the Wolves' first matchup against Biola and Azusa Pacific since at least 2000.
