FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- The Western Oregon track and field teams spent Thursday through Saturday at the Pacific Multis and the Pacific Open at Hanson Stadium.

The first two days was the Pacific Multis where on the women's side WOU's Jenelle Hurley won the women's heptathlon with 4,720 points (her best season-opening score in her career) while setting a new personal record in the high jump with a height of 1.67 meters. Maliyah Thompson competed for the first time in the heptathlon and finished with 4,017 points to take eighth 0 but set a new PR in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.64 seconds to win the event.

On the men's side, the Wolves took three of the top four spots with JJ Walker winning the decathlon with 6,152 points, Brennen Sorah taking second (5,712) and Gabe Burchfield taking fourth (5,506).

The Pacific Open took place Saturday and here are some of the WOU highlights:
- Mark Warren set a new PR in the hammer throw while winning the event with a toss of 51.87 meters while Justin Parnell also PR'd while taking seventh (46.52).
- Maya Hopwood won the 100 (12.6)
- Justin Conklin set a PR in the 110 hurdles while winning the event with a time of 14.85 (his first sub 15-second time).
- Deshaun Stevens took second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.95 – just off of his PR.
- Krystal Andres in the discus threw a PR of 41.61 – the seventh-best mark in WOU history and good enough to take second at the event.
- Emilia Carpenter took second in the hammer with a distance of 43.62 with Liliana Lyness-Morales not far behind in third (42.58) – both season bests.
- Abigail Sanders set a new PR in the javelin (35.02 meters)
- Marley Harrison won the triple ump with a PR mark of 14.04 meters
WOU hosts the John Knight Twilight on Friday.at McArthur Field.
