Wolves get an NCAA provisional, two WOU top-10 performances and several PRs at UW Invite

SEATTLE --- The Western Oregon track and field team saw an NCAA provisional time, two all-time top-10 performances and several personal bests at the UW Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
Highlighting the weekend was Keeton Sanchez as he set an NCAA provisional mark and the No. 6 time in WOU history in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 7.61 seconds. It ranks 29th in the nation this season and No. 2 in the GNAC.
 
Isaiah Rodriguez set a personal best and the No. 10 time in WOU history in the 800 with a time of 1:53.18 – the top mark in the GNAC this season.
 
Easton Pomrankey shaved four seconds off his PR in the mile with a time of 4:11.19 – 4 second mile pr 4:11.19 – less than a second off the WOU top 10 and is No. 6 in the GNAC this season.
 
Justin Conklin was just .01 seconds off his PR in the 60 hurdles at 8.34 seconds, which is third in the GNAC this season (his time of 8.33 is tied for second all-time at WOU).
 
Mark Warren took sixth in weight throw at 17.4 meters (57 feet, 1 inch) and set a season best in the shot put at 14.11 meters (46-3.5).
 
The women had two strong performances by freshmen in the 800 with Kaydence Nguyen setting a PR by two seconds with a time of 2:19.59 (ninth in the GNAC this season) while Amelia Merritt took second off her PR at 2:21.74 – 10th in the GNAC this season.
 
The Wolves return to action this upcoming week with a trio of events – the Riverfront Invitational and Multis from Thursday through Saturday in Spokane, Washington, the George Fox Indoor Meet #1 on Sunday, Feb. 4, and Portland Indoor #2 on Sunday, Feb. 4.
