PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon's Bryce Bond was named the GNAC Pitcher of the Week and Randy Stultz was selected the GNAC Player of the Week on Monday as the Wolves swept the weekly honors.

Stultz - Montana native - was a tough out all weekend as he hit .667 (6-for-9) with a homer, two doubles, six RBI, five runs and a stolen base as the Wolves took three of four from Montana State Billings. He had a .727 on-base percentage, slugged 1.222 – finishing the weekend with a 1.949 OPS. After not playing in game one of the series, he shined in helping the Wolves take the final three games in the series – going 2-for-2 with a homer, double, four RBI, two runs and a stolen base in game two Friday before going 1-for-3 with a run and a double in Saturday's first game and capping the weekend going 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs.

Bond in two relief appearances for the Wolves went 4.1 scoreless innings – not giving up a run, allowing just one hit (opponents hit .077) and striking out four while walking just one against MSUB. More importantly was the timing of his appearances as in Saturday's first game, he entered in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded and two outs with WOU holding a 2-1 lead before getting a key strikeout and eventually retiring all seven batters he faced on his way to his third save of the season. In game one of the series Friday, with the bases were loaded and no outs he allowed just a single run to score (which did so on a double play) to keep the score tied (though WOU eventually lost in the ninth after Bond left the contest).

WOU returns to action 1 p.m. Friday as the Wolves host nationally ranked Northwest Nazarene to start a key four-game series in Monmouth.
