AT A GLANCE: The Wolves begin GNAC action this week coming off a 4-2 week at the Florida Spring Games in Clermont. This included having their three highest scoring outputs of the season in wins over Concordia-St. Paul (9-7), Saint Anselm (8-2) and Sioux Falls (7-5). WOU capped the event with a 3-0 win over Clarion with a one-hitter tossed by Abby Stansbury with three strikeouts and six walks.

Aaliyah Gaboriault (.333 AVG, 13 R, 7 SB), Victoria Zimmerman (.309 AVG, 9 R, 4 SB) and Isabelle Lewis (.279 AVG, 12 RBI) pace the Wolves at the plate while Kennedy Abbas (4.41 ERA, 28 SO, 54 IP) leads WOU in the circle.


Central Washington dropped all four games last week in Nampa in two non-GNAC games against both Montana State Billings and Northwewt Nazarene. McKayla Cable has been the Wildcats' most dangerous hitter with a .306 average, .850 OPS with a homer, four doubles and seven RBI. Payton Kessler leads CWU in the circle with a 4.71 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 32.2 innings of work.

AT A GLANCE: WOU opened GNAC play last week going 1-3 against Northwest Nazarene - winning the opener 3-0 behind a three-hit, 13-strikeout shutout from Devin Bell (earning him GNAC and NCWBA West Region Pitcher of the Week) before dropping the next three 6-1, 3-2 (12 innings) and 4-0.

Bell leads the WOU starters with a 1.93 ERA with 22 strikeouts, a 0.64 WHIP and a .113 opponents batting average in 18.2 innings of work. Shane Bailey leads WOU out of the pen as he has a 0.68 ERA with seven strikeouts and a .146 opponents batting average in 13.1 innings (five appearances). The Wolves at the plate are led by Collin Irwin with a .258 average and a .395 on-base percentage.

CWU is coming off taking three of four at Saint Martin's last week to open GNAC play, winning the first two games 11-7 and 4-2 (10 innings) before dropping game three 10-3 and bouncing back in game four 5-2. The wins broke a five-game losing streak for the Wildcats.

Brandham Ponce is the Wildcats' most productive hitter as he's seventh in the nation in home runs with seven to go along with four doubles, a triple, 13 RBI, 12 runs and a 1.163 OPS. Max Bledy is hitting .400 with a 1.003 OPS for CWU with a homer, two doubles and seven RBI. Pitching has been a struggle for CWU with a team ERA of 8.44. Jonathan Garza II has been the Wildcats' most effective starter with a 5.09 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 23 innings of work.

AT A GLANCE: The Wolves this week head to Newberg to take part in the Rich Allen Classic hosted by George Fox. WOU is sending 40 athletes to compete at the event with most making their outdoor debut. Also this past week, it was announced that Mark Warren (weight throw), Isaiah Rodriguez (800) and the men's distance medley relay team (Rodriguez, Brennen Murphy, Grant Bohannon and Keeton Sanchez) have qualified for the NCAA D-II Indoor Championships set for March 13-15 in Indianapolis.
