Western Oregon senior Ethan Bothwell won for the first time in his collegiate career at Saturday at the Mike Johnson Classic, and then earned his first GNAC Runner of the Week award today. 

Bothwell, from Hillsboro (Glencoe HS), won the race on his home Ash Creek Preserve course by five seconds with a 8K time of 24:08. "Ethan Bothwell had a fantastic day and ran a very calculated race to get his first collegiate win," said Wolves head coach Zachary Holloway. 

Bothwell helped lead the Wolves to the team title as well, outdistancing second-place Alaska Anchorage by 38 points. 

It's the second GNAC Runner of the Week award for the Wolves this Fall, as Matthew Resnik also earned the certificate on September 14.
