Wolves run well in Sundodger Invitational

SUNDODGER INVITATIONAL FULL RESULTS

SEATTLE –
The Western Oregon cross country team opened up the meat of their 2016 schedule against a talented field Saturday morning at the Sundodger Invitational hosted by the University of Washington at Lincoln Park.
 
The WOU men's team placed seventh overall with 190 points as Trinity Western won the open division meet with 43 points. The women finished 14th overall with 414 points.
 
Western Oregon was led by All-West Region performer David Ribich, as the junior placed second over with a time of 24:04.9, just four second off the winning pace of Declan White of Trinity Western. Ribich was the top Division II finisher over 8,000-meter race.
 
Dustin Nading posted a great 12th place finish with a time of 24:48.20. Justin Cross White was 48th at 25:40.9 and was followed by Tyler Jones with a time of 25:48.9 in 63rd. Rounding out the scoring Wolves at the meet was Hunter Mossman in 88th place (26:08.3).
 
In the women's race, Kennedy Rufener was the top WOU finisher placing 37th with a time of 22:25.9. Suzanne Van De Grift finished in 47th at 22:39.2. The Wolves in the scoring quintet included Lauren Kangas (103rd, 24:37.1), Virginia Link (136th, 24:14) and Amanda Ditzhazy (24:27.7).
 
Western Oregon takes a week off from competition, but will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem.
