Wolves cross country youngsters pick up experience at Lewis & Clark Invite

ESTACADA, Oregon --- While the Western Oregon cross country teams didn't field enough runners to pick up team scores, its young student-athletes picked up key experience Saturday at the Lewis & Clark Invitational.

Four Wolves competed in the men's 8K race - led by James Lackey's time of 28:30.7 (208th place). He was followed by Rami Dear (224th, 28:51.2), Jordan Kemper (226th, 28:53.7) and Matthew Schenk (29:05.6). In the women's 6K race, two runners finished for WOU in Emily Moore (147th, 25:48.8) and Piper Youngmayr (202nd, 27:34.1).

The Wolves return to action next Saturday at the NCAA D2 Pre Nationals in Seattle.
